Using this site
The site is free to read for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't try to break or overload it, or copy its pages automatically.
What our guides are
Our guides summarize owner reports and makers' specs and safety listings. We do not lab-test products, and each runtime, size or heat setting says whether it is the maker's figure or owners'.
A guide is general information. It can't know your body, climate or use, and a product can change after we write about it. See how we pick.
Safety with heated gear
Heated gear runs on lithium batteries or mains power. Your product's manual and labels always come first.
- Use the maker's battery and charger, and never charge a wet pack.
- Remove the battery or unplug the controls before washing, and follow the care label.
- Don't fold, tuck or cover a heated blanket while it is on, as the CPSC advises.
- Never use a heated blanket and mattress pad together (Sunbeam's manual: no other heating device).
- Check cords, plugs and fabric each season, and stop using a damaged product.
- Check the CPSC recall list for your model.
Sunbeam's heated bedding manual, for example, warns against use for an infant, a person with diabetes or anyone who cannot feel heat.
No medical advice
Heated gear is sold for warmth and comfort. Nothing here is medical advice, and we don't claim a heated product treats pain, circulation or any condition. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are buying for someone who can't easily feel heat or move away from it, ask a doctor first.
Prices
We don't print prices, because they change daily. The store's price, stock and delivery when you buy are the ones that apply.

Store links open the store (see the disclosure). A purchase is between you and the store; returns, warranty claims and product questions go to the store or maker.
Owners' words
Owner quotes are copied as written and kept on file with their source. They are the owner's view, not ours. If you wrote one and want it removed, tell us and we will take it down.
Content and trademarks
The site's text, layout and graphics belong to its owner. You may quote a short passage with a link back. Copying whole guides, or reusing them elsewhere, needs our written permission.
Product and brand names belong to their owners. Naming a brand doesn't mean it endorses us or we work with it.
Liability
We work to keep every guide accurate, but the site is provided as is, with no promise that it is complete or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, WarmGearReport is not responsible for loss or harm from relying on its guides, or from how a product you buy performs. We don't control the other sites we link to.
